Imbrecht/Fabry
McLaughlin Lofts quickly became one of the premiere lofts in the United States. This father and sons team won their first All-American award in 1980 after a record-breaking sweep of the most prestigious Boston Concourse futurities. This feat has never and probably will never be duplicated. The main reason for all the remarkable early success was due to the acquisition of the now legendary Fabry cock, MVPC 74 554. Through his children and grandchildren the big wins came more and more frequently. This cock was known as the top producer ever in the Boston Concourse. Not only has “554” impacted McLaughlins' record but the race record or nearly every loft around America to try this special bloodline. As of 2003 the legend “554”, had 15 generations of winners around the globe.
McLaughlin Lofts realized that great pigeons are the secret to success and the quest to find the best began. Many trips to Belgium and England followed to find pigeons that would complement the existing family of “554 Fabrys'". Gold was struck again in 1983. Belgium 83 2262065, “Old Imbrecht Cock”, the name he received later in his life, was purchased from Imbrecht, bred from Imbrecht’s #1 pair at the time. The “Old Imbrecht Cock” was the sire to major winners from the start. His offspring won as young birds at the 300 miles and continued to win 100 to 600 miles as old birds. The most famous sons of the “Old Imbrecht Cock” are “Decathlon” a triple winner, winning as a young bird and old bird out to 600 miles finishing 1st Boston Concourse and 2nd New England Open 600 miles against 4066 birds. “Decathlon” has many children winning and his grandchildren are unbeatable! One son bred 7 winners and another son bred 1st Boston Concourse 600 miles. The daughters are even more remarkable. The other famous son of the “Old Imbrecht Cock” is “1613”. This son has bred numerous winners for generations. He was a one in a million breeder with the same prepotency as his father and half brother. In 2003, a grandson from 1613 won equal 1st Boston Concourse 600 miles for McLaughlin Lofts.
